First Friday Art Walk in downtown Winslow has become a Bainbridge Island tradition: a great time to meet friends (old and new), and become familiar with local artists and galleries.

The first Friday of each month (usually the second Friday in July) many of Bainbridge Island’s galleries open from 6pm-8pm, and often you’ll get a chance to meet the artist at a show opening.

Friday September 1, the Coldwell Banker Bain office (see our Contact page for location) will be presenting artist Fatima Young and wine tasting with Bainbridge Island’s Fletcher Bay Winery ( We’ll be serving snacks while you browse Fatima’s art, which she describes as “in the tradition of certain Russian Impressionists” (see more at Her work has been showcased in several galleries including, most recently, the Heritage Gallery.

You’ll find open galleries and shops from our offices on Madison all the way up Winslow Way to the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. Recommended stops include Bainbridge Arts & Crafts and Roby King, both of which feature show openings on First Fridays; Danger, and The Island Gallery. There are numerous smaller venues in between. Don’t miss heading upstairs at Winslow Mall to see the beautiful glasswork of Amy Roberts Sculpture and the large-format photography of Steven Fey Gallery. Arts & Humanities Bainbridge recently opened a small space in the Marge Williams Center. Open venues vary so if you’re planning to visit a particular gallery or shop, you may want to call ahead.

Please stop by Friday Sept. 1 and say “hi” while enjoying art and wine. We look forward to seeing you! And if you’d like to check out the Bainbridge Island housing market while you are here, we’re more than happy to speak with you. Or, give us a call!
